If you’re looking to buy stainless steel pegs, there are three main things you need to consider:
The grade of the stainless steel. 316 marine grade is the best quality and most durable. Grades 201 and 304 are inferior and do not have the corrosion resistance of 316 grade. Best Pegs are independently tested to confirm they are made from genuine 316 marine grade stainless steel so you can be assured of quality.
The length of the peg. Best Pegs are larger than most other stainless steel pegs. At 76mm, they are the same size as regular pegs. They can hold more and are comfortable to use.
The wire thickness. Best Pegs are made from 2mm thick wire for added strength and durability. Other pegs use thinner wire so are not as strong.
The most common concern people have is that stainless steel pegs will heat up in the sun. This is not true. Even if you leave your pegs out on the line in the blazing summer sun they are not hot to touch.
